Work with respective local teams for Operational Risk, Audit, Compliance and Legal to outline standards required for the Primary and Secondary Controls of HBEG RBWM business.
Define key controls and establish metrics / tolerances around them.
Work with SFR & ISR
Work with the Head of RBWM and Regional BRCM to
Develop and implement a risk management and control strategy
Tracking performance on key controls and metrics
Identify and implement solutions where performance is below expectations
Prepare readiness for Audits, ensure tracking and resolution of any audit findings
Own and drive robust Risk & Control Assessments (RCA’s) across the HBEG RBWM, including MSII
Ensure Regional & Local procedures in line with FIM / BIM
Customers / Stakeholders include HBEG RBWM Departments/ Distribution Channels, Compliance, Risk Management and Audit
Act as coordinator of contact points between external risk teams and RBWM, providing advice, consultation and direction to management to ensure operational, vendor and information risk management processes are in accordance with internal and external standards and guidelines/regulations.
Obtain sufficient information from impacted group(s) when potential significant deficiencies or material weaknesses or non-compliance are identified to ensure appropriate investigative groups are engaged; ensure remedial activities are appropriately documented to satisfy external reviews.
Provide guidance and counsel to the BRCMs to ensure effective risk and control processes and practices that are in compliance with Bank and regulatory requirements.
Advise and support the BRCMs in preparing for internal and/or external reviews through facilitation, planning, briefing, consolidation, review, interpretation, documenting and auditing of reports and materials; liaise with internal and external groups as they audit and assess business unit compliance with regulatory and policy standards.
Provides guidance to staff by properly prioritizing initiatives based on risk impact to RBWM Business while ensuring timely implementation.
Wide knowledge of HSBC policies, procedures, and risk management frameworks.
Highly developed inter-personal skills for dealing with sensitive information/situations.
Excellent working knowledge of risk management principles.
Understand the RBWM strategy and collaborate with the business to accomplish this strategy.
Knowledge of RBWM products and services.
Proven ability to persuade and/or influence others in order to provide and obtain information relevant to the programs.
Understand and interpret complex business and risk requirements
Demonstrated ability to assess risk trends
Strong leadership and coaching skills and strong business acumen.
